Will Cost Taxpayers 28 Hours of Work, No Reform

Mike Madigan’s 32% permanent tax hike is now in effect. The Associated Press reported yesterday that Illinois employers will now begin withholding income to pay the Madigan Tax.

The Belleville News-Democrat quantified the impact on taxpayers, noting that “the average Illinois household will need to work about 28 hours to make the $1,100 extra just taken from them by state lawmakers.”

Taxpayers are being forced to give 28 more hours of work to Mike Madigan’s broken political system.

28 hours without term limits, fair maps, pension fixes, a balanced budget, a plan to grow jobs, or school funding reform.

It’s just what Mike Madigan wanted.
