Internship Program

The Illinois Republican Party is looking for dynamic young individuals to assist with the day-to-day operations of the State Party. Our internship Program is intended for highly motivated students, with an interest in government and politics.

An internship with the State Party is one of the best ways to begin a career in politics and government. We aim to create a top-tier internship program that provides marketable skills, lifelong connections, and an enjoyable experience to a select group of high-achieving students, who in turn contribute measurable value to the Illinois Republican Party’s operations and stay connected with the organization long after their last day as an intern. Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Work alongside staff directly serving ILGOP Chairman
• Work alongside staff responsible for strategic messaging, print media, radio-television bookings, and the GOP-TV film studio.
• Work alongside staff handling spoken and written correspondence with voters and outside organizations.
• Work alongside staff responsible for legal and administrative procedures
• Work alongside staff responsible for the voter file and predicative modeling for elections.
• Work alongside staff responsible for online fundraising, testing and analytics, graphic design, and digital content across gop.com and social media channels
• Work alongside staff responsible for fundraising initiatives and donor relations
• Work alongside staff responsible for the national field program, strategic initiatives, and GOTV programs.
• Work alongside staff responsible for producing and housing research on past and current events.

• Monitor social media trends and current events to keep our content relevant and timely. Assist in the development of social media strategies to reach and mobilize our target audience effectively.
